After installing the client should start up, so just let it do so and install any updates it might prompt you to install. It’s pretty easy as the installer detects the folder you’ve installed Red Alert 2 so you should be able to install it no trouble. On the House, for the benefit of those at the back of the class, works. So download the installation file and follow the installation instructions. Oh, in case you havent figured, replace the old RA2. Classic RTS Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is the latest freebie offered by Electronic Arts' 'On the House' Origin scheme. Please note though, although the program you used to copy the cd (clonecd) may work, your burner may not be able to replicate the Safedisc protection, which may be the source of your problems in not reading the CD (even with my fix possibly), so long story short, use Daemon-Tools to mount the cd image that a program liek clonecd can make. This is for Red Alert 2, Version 1.006r2 (its for the update only available off Westwood Online (in-game), not 1.006) My crack overcomes this, but stillr equires the backup cd to be in the drive or mounted as an image. This is for those people who have LEGALLY purchased the game, and made a backup CD, only to find out that it says "insert cd" or their units and buildings explode after 30 seconds of gameplay (or after they create their first building).
